It is good for a vacation but brief. If you are diving, lobstering or just getting drunk in Key West, great! However, this place can get old after a couple days of the same thing. Food and drinks are not cheap. It is best to make it there during an event (i.e. Spring Break, Fantasy Fest, etc...)

Well, it is a good place for partying. The Keys are an interesting place in general, and there are some water-related activities. It's not that big, though, so it might be hard to spend a week there unless you are heavily into fishing, etc.. I spent a day in Key Largo and a day in Key West, and that was about right.

I lived in South FL for three years... if you DID somehow get bored Miami isn't far away. It;s a blast and even if you wouldn't normally like fishing I recommend it... I am a very girly girl and fell in love with marina fishing!!
