God loves everyone, which includes gays and lesbians. We are all sinners, fall short of God’s standards, and undeserving of His love. Homosexuality is no more sinful than any other sin. God hates all sin equally. If we forget this, we will be at greater risk of falling into self-righteousness.
True love is a choice and unconditional; it is not dependent upon the qualities of the beloved. God’s love is not mercurial; He does not cease to love us, when we cease to please him. He loves us not because of who we are but because of who He is.
God loves people that are living in sin and he requires Christians to do the same. When we were in our sin and rebellion, we were downright ugly. However, He cleansed us and made us beautiful again. Jesus gave His life so that whoever repents of their sins and puts their faith in His finished work on the cross will receive eternal life.
“Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless" (Ephesians 5:25-27).
God is also holy; He will not wink at sin. He is loving and has provided us a way out. If we do not accept it; we will face eternal separation from God (hell).
The following are some excerpts from: http://www.exodusglobalalliance.org/ischangepossiblec39.php :
"Christ came that we may have life and have it abundantly - not to live in the bondage of unwanted desires. We can act upon those feelings or not and still be in bondage to them. When the struggle to give in to these unwanted desires consumes much of our time and energy every day, where is the freedom and abundant living?"
"By change we mean that homosexually-oriented people can:
Change behavior -- that is, stop involvement in a homosexual lifestyle.
Reduce, manage and in some cases, practically eliminate homosexual feelings and attractions
And in many cases (though not all), experience satisfying heterosexual relationships."

Jesus teaches forgiveness, but I think the idea is not to sin in the first place. Most people are a bit confused when they say that in the Christian viewpoint that it is a sin to be homosexual. That is not the case. What Jesus said was "But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Matthew 5:28 NKJV), ie lusting is as bad as committing the act. This means that it is a sin to lust after someone of the same sex, but not really any worse than lusting after the opposite sex! Where you do run into trouble is that in the Bible, sex is only allowed through the holy union of marriage. The Bible is pretty specific on marriage being between a man and a woman. So, the textbook answer is that homosexuality is fine, so long as you don't fantasize or have sex. Some people believe that marriage can occur between two people of the same sex, but that is a rather delicate issue. However, people have their own personal interpretations of God and sin, so perhaps it's okay in your belief system. Just try to be happy :) I wish you the best of luck, and I truly hope that you find love

Wow! This an awesome question. I am neither gay or lesbian, more like bi curious. I truly believe god loves everyone and the fact that someone is gay or lesbian or any other sexual orientation does not change that. If he didn't want you to be gay then he wouldn't have created gays. If you believe in God how could you think God wouldn't love you for being gay.

This topic always frustrates me. If your one of those people who believes that it's a choice to be gay (in which case you are not gay or you wouldn't feel that way) then you will believe that God doesn't love you and that you will go to hell or whatever. Myself, I am bisexual and my brother is gay. I know very much so that being gay is NOT a choice so I have to believe that god will love me no matter what. Why would god make us that way and then condemn us to hell for it. It doesn't make any sense. I feel that maybe, just maybe he may consider it somewhat of a sin like pre marital sex or something like that but as far as being the worst thing we could possibly do. I seriously doubt it.

The Bible says the quotes about gays in old testament. Many things changed in the new testament, like an eye for an eye is now turn the other cheek. What I believe is that God said to follow the 10 commandments, then to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. So that's what I do and no one can tell me what I feel or don't feel.

I feel god loves everyone he has created. The only people who have a problem with that are the ignorant people we live around.God also created everyone different we have black, white, hispanic gays and lesbians if he didn't feel you were worthy enough to be on this planet then you wouldn't be.So to all the ignorant people out there you need to get a life and stop worrying about what everyone else is doing and worry about how you live and the lifestyle you lead.

GOD loves all his children and he would not make a mistake. I find it sad that some people believe that Jesus hates homosexuality when in fact if they actually bothered to study what Jesus taught they'd know he never said anything condemning gays and lesbians! He taught love and tolerance for all.
So the way I feel is this, NO ONE should feel ashamed for the way they were born...no matter what their sexual orientation and no matter what their race.

I am a lesbian and i believe in God and I also believe that he loves me. I am a truly believer that God's love is unconditional and that he does not exile anyone of the gay/lesbian preference. I believe that the love that i have in my heart for my parnter comes from the creator of my soul and being.

I believe, actually want to believe God loves us, loves me as I am. If I shy away from God, it's that events have cracked my faith... I was a bible thumper once. Twenty years ago, I was spouting hateful venom myself, now I'm on the receiving end too. Funny, isn't it?

I have had NUMEROUS pray sessions with God trying to come to terms between my religion and my sexuality. I know that God loves me for who I am and that God made me. Basically he told me to stop worrying about what people say and what Dogma my church has and listen to HIM.
Then quietly and purposefully he said, " I LOVE YOU, YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD." From that day on I have to let that be my shield against the Christians that attack me.
