The *only* people who doubt that men walked on the moon are those too lazy to do the simple scientific research that absolutely tears to shreds all the so-called 'proofs' that we didn't. It's easier to be a couch potato and believe whatever appears on the idiot box than to search out truth.

THE FLAG IS NOT BLOODY WAVING!!!!!

It has a rod sewn along the top precisely because it WON'T wave in a vacuum. If they just hung it up without it the flag would hang limply down the pole and generally look a bit crap. A telescoping rod was sewn along the top and the flag was all squashed up for days before it was put up. When they put it up it had wrinkles and creases in it because of that. If you watch the TV and film footage of any mission you can see that the flag only moves when an astronaut moves it. Other than that it is TOTALLY static, which is impossible in air. If you look at the many many still pictures you can see that the same pattern of creases and wrinkles appears every time, again showing that the flag is NOT moving.

And if you think it is waving, answer me these two questions:

1: Why doesn't the wind that blows the flag also blow the dust that is kicked up by every single step the astronauts take?

2: WHY would NASA be so STUPID as to film something they claim is taking place in a vacuum with a bloody great wind blowing the flag around?!?!?!?!?!?

Yeah, people do believe it was all faked, but these people just don't think very hard about it or really look at the record. If they did then they'd all be writing answers like mine. It's so mind-blowingly simple I don't understand why the flag issue still exists.

I think that it is only a small minority that rejects the Moon landings. In these forums, though, it happens to be a vocal minority. The conspiracy theory rests solely on bad science, and I think - I hope - that most people can tell for themselves that there is no conspiracy.

A typical conspiracy argument: why can't we see the flag on the Moon from Earth? Hopefully, the average person will realize that a small American flag isn't going to be visible from a distance of a quarter million miles.

Of course. The same kind of people that believe the earth is flat, G. W. Bush is a Christian, the pentagon was hit with a missle, not a 757, and Elvis is working as a short order cook in Provo Utah.

A lot of ill informed people certainly do, a surprising number of conspiracy theorists are out there. I'm expecting a thumbs down or two from some of the more gullible ones.

It's hard to believe that the VERY same people who use technology routinely, refute the greatest achievements that have resulted from it.

Oh, there are hundreds of idiots out there who refuse to accept the evidence before their eyes, most of them too young to have been around when it happened. Amazing that in this day and age, we have so many really stupid, gullible, scientifically illiterate people out there.

I have a friend that watched it on TV with me and still doesn't believe it took place!

The US certainly would have had motivation to lie as we were in a space race with Russia and really needed something like that for public morale. If you watch the video the flag appears to be waving in the wind. There is no wind on the moon folks!
