I've seen people wearing badges which have different messages e.g. "I like all the girls" and "I'm not weird, I'm just gifted". What shops in the UK sell these kinds of badges?

You can buy badge making kits from most toy shops ( eg Badge It!) so you should make your own, be original and creative, slogans like: 'I think about murder approx 60 times a day' or 'Midget Fight Club.com'

I bought it from a shop called Music Zone [it's closed down in my town now]
although you can also find really funky badges from a lot of small boutique style shops.
There is one in my town called guru, for goths and stuff but it has a really good selection of badges.
You could also invest in a badge it. This way you can personalise your badges or print images out form the computer etc. so yuo can have personal ones or the ones you have seen on the street.

I bought a machine and parts from badgeaminit.com They are a US company and have a UK agent but I found I could get a wider selection at less cost with a bulk order direct. There is a low cost machine for about £20 but it is fiddly and a larger machine is better if you are going to do a lot.
They supply a large variety of ready printed messages but you can also get a program to make your own or just use a graphics program.
Try searching bumper stickers or jokes one liners to get funny text. I have collected hundreds. These are a few examples.

You could have a look on ebay, they are often sold in music shops, that sell like guitars etc. Also in the music section in Selfridges (if you are near one), I also know that Clinton Cards sell them, about 10 in a pack, as do Birthdays. There is also this website that I have used on the odd occassion ( http://www.badgeplanet.co.uk/ ) it has a wide range of what I think you are after.
