i have been using tampax pearl for my last couple menstrations but i find that they're uncomfortable at times when i'm sitting down or while i sleep. is this just because i'm not used to using tampons yet or should i buy a different kind?

I wouldn't change brands just yet. In my personal experience tampax pearl are the most comfortable tampons to insert and wear. The uncomfortable feeling is probably there because you did not insert the tampon far enough. Make sure to relax your muscles when you are inserting the applicator, and push it up as far as you can without letting go of it before pressing the plunger. Also, you should not wear a tampon while sleeping all night. Good luck!

Ami, I had troubles with tampons for several years - until I started using OB. They're the ones that do not come with a plastic applicator. This way, you will know how far to insert them and can "move" it.

Good Luck.

Try a OB tampon or something equally as small. I had the same problem, but found I could only use a tampon for a short period. Even with the smaller ones...I could still felt 'uncomfortable'.

If it uncomfortable it probably isn't in all the way. take it out and try again. You shouldn't be able to feel it. You can also try a smaller (slender) tampon.

happened to me with tampax pearl. you are either really tight and need slender sizes or most likely it's not in all the way. they go allll the way up there so don't be afraid to get them higher!

try using smaller size. in the begining i expirienced the same thing, but it will go away. I find tampax perl to be the best.

Try a different type. For me, I can't even feel it when I have a tampon in.
