Generally the answer is no. The best Chinese products (I'm more familiar with scooters) will be at best alright, and support can be problematic. That said, they do have many parts carried over from the scooters, after all, that helps make it cheaper to build, so you do have some chance of finding parts. Most important thing when considering a Chinese motor product is whether you can find a local mechanic and parts source, we've a few here in Phoenix.
That said, while the name brand products are good, they can be a bit pricey, so if you're looking to save some money, consider one of the Taiwan makes, while not as good as a Yamaha or a Polaris, they're a close second for less money. Take a look at Sym (www.cartersym.com), Taiwan Gold Bee (www.cobrasales.com) or Kymco (www.kymcousa.com), which are all dealer only brands, which is never a bad thing.
Remember, with a cheap scooter, if it breaks down, you're on the side of the road some where, help is at worst a phone call away. With an ATV or a dune buggy, you might be 50 miles away in the middle of nowhere out of cell phone range when it breaks, so buy something that'll last.

I wouldn't want to ride one 50 miles back into the Alaska wilderness. I hate to hike!
No seriously. They are true junk. Get a Honda or a Yamaha. Avoid Polarise and Kawasaki. Up here we survive (or not) on our 4 wheelers.

Seriously, what would you think? There's a good reason they are cheaper than a Honda or Suzuki. You get what you pay for. Not to mention where would you get parts or who will even work on one?
