"Emo" genres and most mainstream rock is ruining the true spirit of rock and roll. The original messege of rock is sex drugs and rock and roll. Now its more like Ex Girlfriends, Crying and suicide. When is it going to end? what happened to good rock and metal?

I agree 100%!! Rock is not what it used to be. But what's funny is all these young kids are now "discovering" Pink Floyd and Led Zeplin and all those good old bands, and LOVE them!! Like it's all new or something! lol Rock On!!! AC/DC rules!

Now most of the bands that prance around under the name of rock can't even play instruments. They just bang pointlessly and the kids today are told this is good music by the radio, so they listen to it. It's really sad. I'm afraid it's not gonna end soon, as long as people refuse to think for theselves, they're gonna be fed this useless terrible stuff, but you know rock can never die cause some of us acually know what's good music and we will continue to listen to it. And there are a few good bands that are hanging around, like Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Dream Theater and Velvet Revolver.

I think you need to take that up with you rock and metal bands. I'm not into the emo stuff, but everyone is entitled to their own taste in music and some people do like it. my best suggesting to you is dont listen to the emo and stick to listening to the bands you do like.

OMG.. I am so glad to hear someone say that. This new emo music is horrible godawful crap. Thank God for bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall and others that are actually kickass musicians that are bringing musicianship back!!

I know what you mean man!!! All the other people who hate rock is because of all this emo crap!!! Just like I have asked before....when will it end??? Hopfully not long and I hope it dies soon!!! Because of this damn emo thing, and stupid people buying into it...record labels dont sign real great band with talent and instead sign crappy sh!tty bands like the ones your talking about! Dont worry....sooner (I hope) or later this will die and True rock will rise again!

For me, the day Kurt Cobain died is the day the music died. Grunge isn't my favorite type of rock, but it was really the only thing holding back pop punk, gangsta rap, and boy bands. Thank God for the older bands who are still touring and releasing albums.
