Sometimes places from stitches itch for quite a while. It sounds like you might have some scar build up. Try this, get Vitamin E gels, generic is fine. Use a pin and poke a hole in the end, squeeze it out on your finger and keep the healing part moist. Also to help relieve the scar tissue if this is what the problem is, depending on size of the scar, use the end of a spoon and place it on the scar and rub real hard several times a day. This will help break up scar tissue and will aide in the healing of what is already there. Hope this helps.

If you're still having itching at this time, you really need to make an appointment with a doctor to make sure nothing is abnormal.
If you had stitches under your skin beside the ones on the surface you could have the prolonged itching.
The doctor may prescribe an ointment to help with the itching too.

Yes. Although it's annoying, itching is a good sign - it means those little micromillimeter vessels etc. are regenerating.
Some area itch more than others.
Try some vitamin E cream, and massage it in daily. Avoid clothing that rubs the area. If it gets really itchy, don't scratch, but 'massage' it with your knuckles. Also try blowing cold air from a blow dryer or fan on the area.
When I had brain surgery, the place where they peeled my scalp back itched for two years!

yep, i had two surgeries and the first itched for eight month while it was healing, i had regular checkups during that time and everything was normal. The second i had two month ago and still itching but I'm starting to get used to it that it doesn't bother me as much any more. I believe its a good thing and tells you that your body is doing what it should be doing during the healing process. Hopefully you heal soon so that you can starting enjoying your life again. Good luck

Yes, I had that - sometimes the subcutaneous stitches - meaning the stitches that they put below the surface start to ease their way up. My doctor told me that 30% of the populations bodies reject the subcutaneous stitches and they will eventually rise to the surface. I am one of those 30%. Very interesting that can happen. Mine actually came up to the surface and I had to remove them.

Regardless whether you got stitches or not, cuts itch while they are healing. If an injury is severe enough to require stitches, it is going to take longer to heal and it is going to itch a little more.

That USUALLY justs from the healing process. Tho sometimes there is scar tissue underneath causing problems. I wouldnt worry as long as it is not painful. But, it it continues, I would surely mention it to your doctor. Never hurts to be caution. God bless you...

i think that is somewhat normal. I cut my thumb wide open a few years ago and it itched for a few months. i think its becuase the tissue on the inside on your body is still mending.
