You seems to be a nice person therefore you are afraid of Mom and Dad.
Yes, there are time when children wanted to do something which is not allowed by parents and society due to age or cultural factor.
But if you want to ask your mother the best way is when your mother is not busy and she is in a good mood ask her if she can do some make for you. Surely she will ask why? you say just I wanted to see if I look like you or not in a make-up. This answer will cool her down.
If she said no then stop, try the same with father because psychologically father do not say no to daughter in most cases. And if father helps you then this is the fist step.
Remember do not get nervous, believe in you. I give you one example which will help you a lot. Have you seen a baby who can not walk but try knees to move around in the room, then try to stand several time by falling again and again and one day start walking. This baby never give up and succeed.
I am sure you are much better than baby, be brave and always thinking positive.
Wish you success.

My mom was like a drill sergeant and I was afraid to ask her about makeup and bras too. So I started out very light and she was fine with it. I was in 6th grade.
Start light. You don't want to look like your face is painted or she will come unglued.
You can get away with mascara and a light lip gloss with a light tint of pink or light plum. Show her after you put it on and see if she notices. If she wears makeup, try a dab of mascara on just your upper lashes and then it won't rub off the bottom ones and make you look like a racoon. You might forget you have it on and rub your eyes. You will just need to learn to check your lower lash area for runs and smudges and remove it with a small amount of hand lotion and a tissue.
You'll be surprised how different you will look with just a little and guys really truly don't like a lot of makeup during the day. It makes you look fake. Demure will get you the nice guys when you are dating. If you have heavy make up on (and I'm stereotyping a bit) you will attract more guys that are after your body and not your mind. It's like an ad: come and get me boys!
The best guys like an innocent girl who is simple and sweet. You will see when you are down the road a bit further.
Good luck sweetie.

well , to tell you the truth , i didn't start wearing make-up till i was 15 . and truthfully , you really don't want to start now . seeing yourself without make-up on after you've been wearing it , it almost feels essential to have it on whenever you leave the house . and it get's annoying having to apply it on every single day . but i know that when i was 12 , i wanted to wear it . and when people would tell me that it looked horrible , i wouldn't pay any attention to them at all . because i thought it looked good . but honey , later i realized that it did look bad . when i see little girls wearing a lot of make-up , you can just tell that they want to grow up too fast . when i was 12 , there was so many things that i wanted to do then that i do now , and wish that i was 12 again . make-up , shaving , boys , jobs , it's a lot to deal with . but sweetheart , it's all up to you . because i remember when i was 12 , i wouldn't listen to anyone when i'd put make-up on . i wasn't alloud to go outside the house with it on , but i really liked it . so if you really want to wear it , just ask your mom nicely . i'm sure she'll understand . but if she says no , it's for a reason , and you'll be old enough to wear it before you know it . and you'll wish you were 12 again . (:

12 is very young for makeup, your skin will be going through a lot of changes and makeup may hurt your skin at this time. Ask her if you can wear a variety of lip gloss. Ease into it and then ask your mom to allow someone the proper way to apply makeup in a couple of years

im 13 and dont wear make up but i dont really care. When ur young like u wearing make up gives the impresion that u want to have a boyfriend and ur ready for a relationship. Most people dont think of that, when they start to wear make up they think "evryone else is why cant i ?" they will be the ones that by 8th grade have already had 4 or so boyfriends. Wearing make up on young skin can damage it as well do you really want to do that ? But if you do buy a mag with free lipgloss or something in it, put it on go to ur mum and say " does this suite me?" if she says yes say could i wear it to school and to town with my mates and that? if she says no itl'l will be teh samr reason as my mum.

hey, I am 13 and when I was 11 i wanted to war make-up for the first time too. What I did (and it worked) is first asked if i could wear lip gloss, the mascara etc. adding a thing each time. I think she (my mum) understood, 'coz she said I was allowed to wear make-up ... apart from the normal 1 or 2 exceptions.

You and your mom should be best friends and tell her things and have a great relationship!
They love that and it also makes you feel good too.
You should go and ask her and just see what she thinks :-)
Go to her and say: "Mom, do you think i would look good in makeup?" Or you could change the word good in to pretty or prettier. :-) If you are already beautiful as you are without it then wait a little bit longer!
Hope I Helped! *Have a wonderful day*

Well, first off, i would just like to say, that at 12, you shouldn't feel the need to wear makeup.. you are young.. enjoy your youth!! =]
But if you still feel the need to wear makeup, and are having problems with your mum, then you should just explain to her that you are not going to put layers of it on, just a little to "enhance" your beauty!! Another good idea is to also prove to her that you can be responsible at the same time. Buy the makeup with your money, and prove to her that your not going to change yourself (for example, your not going to
cake it on, and walk out the door looking like a clown)
Good luck ;)

well, you can just go straight up and ask her. or send her and email or leave her a note. You don't really need to wear make up at 12 but if you do then maybe just a suddle eyeshadow, blush or mascara. don't go so over the top and maybe just go to the mall and get a makeover at a counter and your mom can decide what she likes and doesn't like you to wear.

If you were my daughter, I'd want you to be upfront with me about anything, including ASKING me about makeup and other things to this nature. In my opinion, I would allow you to wear a clear lip gloss and maybe a little blush. But since you're so young, all this makeup can just ruin your natural skin tone. Keep it natural and just ASK your mom. It'll probably freak her out a little because she'll realize you're growing up.
