I was 15 when I got my first period. It didn't come until a good six months later! (I was freaking out to=). My periods were so incredibly irregular...I went over six months for the next one and went into see a doctor. He prescribed a medicine to help regulate it. (Prometrium) It finally did help!
Since this is your first period....don't worry. You will get it..and you're not sick...just irregular like me!! If it doesn't come in a few months look into seeing your doctor again. It stinks not knowing when and if it's going to come...but hang in there=)!
One more thing: Whatever you do...don't go on birth control pills. You don't want to be on those tings. That's an "easy" fix...but just a temporary one. Your period will become irregular once you go off them again. I went on them when I got married...and just went off them this past December. I had to go on Prometrium to help regulate it again. I would have never gone on them if I would have known that.
Hope this helps=)!!

Relax, it's very common to skip a few periods at the beginning! (Actually, it's pretty normal to skip a few here and there even after your body's established its rhythm. For one thing, stress is a huge culprit in that.)
And there is nothing abnormal about starting your period at age 16 or even later; a lot of it has to do with genetics. I was actually the early-bird in my family--my sister and mother both started at 16, but I was 13.
I would give it at LEAST another month, and if you're still worried, go ahead and call your doctor. He may talk to you about the possibility of starting birth control pills just to keep you regular, so don't be freaked out by that, okay? Good luck.

I can totally relate. I didn't get my first period until 3 months before my 16th birthday. And after my first period I didn't get it again until 3 months later. When you first start your period it takes a while until its "regular". So its totally normal. I have even heard that some people don't get it again for like a year. But thats probably not the case. And usually your first few periods are pretty light, so when you do get it again and if your swimming or something no one will probably even notice; let alone you. So don't worry; it usually happens to most people. Just hang in there; I feel your worries!!

It sounds such as you had implantation bleeding hun, this occurs approximately per week earlier than your interval is consider to be due and it in general best suggests whilst you wipe and it may be wherever from brown to crimson recognizing. now an extra choice is that it may also be your interval tricking you due to the fact that you didnt take the start manipulate the way you have been consider to. I feel its ok to scan already due to the fact that you are beautiful overdue. well success hun. if it seems you are now not pregnant I endorse getting at the depo (shot) each three months it is a lot more dependable than to take a tablet each unmarried day while.

WHEN I FIRST STARTED AT 11 I DID NOT HAVE ANOTHER UNTIL I WAS ABOUT 12 OR 13.I'M 28 YEARS OLD AND I STILL HAVE NEVER HAD REGULAR PERIODS. I CAN GO 2 YEARS AND NEVER SEE ONE. NO THIS IS NOT NORMAL AND I DID AT SOME POINT HAVE TO TAKE BIRTH CONTROL TO REGULATE IT. THAT DIDN'T STOP ME FROM HAVING KIDS THOUGH. IT SOUNDS A LITTLE LIKE ME. CALL YOUR DR. AND HE COULD TELL YOU SOME OTHER OPTIONS.GOOD LUCK

It takes awhile for a cycle to normalize. if you don't get it in another month or two talk to your doctor. Chances are, you are completely normal.

do you do sports? because
thats what happened to me. its some scientific thing, but if you're really involved in sports and are really athletic, then your body says "im not ready for babies" and so you dont get it until you slow down on the sports
but if not, then what about your gene pool?
maybe your mom got it this late or your grandmother or aunt
