Nobody (well, there actually are some these days) has believed the world to be flat since long before the bible was written. There are plenty of other mistaken beliefs you could accuse them of harbouring, but not that, I think. The fact that they chose only to worship their war god and abandon all the others is rather more worrying than their knowledge of geography...

I think we all realise that this fancy new concept of the world being some kind of oblate spheroid will be disproven finally, when i sail over the edge of the world in my bath tub.
And as for the Bible i thought that was written by an infinite number of monkeys.

Oh boy is your information a disaster! First, the educated world all knew that the world was round, and even how far around it was, from the time before Christ, in Greece. In addtion, there is now one or any one group of people who wrote the Bible. There are over two dozen or more people who wrote the Bible, and they are spread out over hundreds and even thousands of years.

Most in the Hellenistic world knew the world was round, it is an ongoing fallacy that early and medieval man thought the world was flat. Any learned person of the era thought it round.

The bible was written to make way for capitalism and as a way of controlling the masses, from the point of fear. prior to this women termed witches were burned at the stake. for they had wisdom and healing gifts. Now re[placed by science, but I take your point , it was written by the ignorant.

The Bible was written by people who probably did not have a view on the matter. They certainly would not have known that the Chinese thought it was round.

Ithik you need to do a little more research. the bible of today was compiled from many manuscripts written at differen times and ages not by one single age or group.
