If you watch MTV or listen mainstream FM and get your new bands from those sources, yes it is bad...

Hard rock has it place, but I have no interest in returning to the days of Rainbow, Molly Hatchet, Skid Row and Ted Nugent.

There are many indie bands that make creative music without all of the evils of chart topping, fancy videos, greed and the corny flavor of the moment..

Don't know, but I feel your pain.

I was digging Audioslave, but they've wimped out. Black Label Society works. Gov't Mule has some good stuff too.

The music industry is just manufacturing pretty boy/girl bands these days that are an easy sell to the casual music person.

Teenagers purchase the most music and white teenagers are listening to rap and hip-hop.
Until white kids decide to be white again we will have to put up with the above.

In the meantime try "Kings of Leon" and Amy Winehouse.
These are the only two "new" (relatively speaking) artists that I have heard lately that are worth listening to.

try and encourage people to listen to classic rock or the good stuff. I honestly wish I could give today's bands suggestions
Ask them why they became a rock band all to be controlled by corporations

well....in my opinion, there's too many whiney musicians who don't want to change or improve anything like: Pink Floyd, Tool, Zepplin and so on. "the modern musician" wants to do 2 things: 1. get rich fast, and 2. get laid. It's not about the music anymore, man!
