How do i hang my clothes to dry in a college dorm?

i'm going to be a senior in high school, so at this point, i'm thinking about leaving for college. right now, most of my clothes are hung to dry because i don't want them to shrink. am i going to be able to still do this when i leave for college (meaning will i have the room in my dorm to do this)?? also, if this is even slightly possible, do you have any suggestions as to how i can go about doing this, any special tools i need, etc...

I'd definitely recommend a metal one and not wooden, the wooden one won't be as durable. I have one and I use it daily. The nice thing is, you can unfold it and store it easily. They have some in-store too. Good luck!

I dont know exactly how much space u have but u could do the old fashioned hanger trick, u can place ur garments on the hanger and hang it from a window, or a bed, or a bathroom shower rail.. anything for that matter. if its a small garment u can hang & then use a hand blowdryer to speed things up. ALWAYS REMEMBER TO GIVE UR GARMENTS AT LEAST 4HRS TO HANG DRY, PLAN AHEAD OR U MIGHT BE SOAKED- also there are several nifty types of products u can purchase to hang clothes in small places check out this site:

Nobody can say how big your dorm room is going to be. In my last year in the dorms my room was so big I could have hung some slabs of beef in there, but the first room I had was pretty cramped. You should be able to find a clothes drying rack that will allow you to hang a number of items in a reasonable space.

if "shrinking" is your problem then wash them in cold water and dry them on delicate or permaprest. When you buy clothes remember that anything cotton can shrunk up to 2 percent. I don't think there will be any room in a dorm room for hanging any wet clothing there, but you might take one of those spring loaded bars for the bathroom (one never knows who will borrow it though and not bring it back) to hang hose on. Doing things like hanging stuff in a small dorm room you will become a "pain" to your roommate. Your roommate might want to bring in visitors and there your undies are hanging drying. Not a good thing.

You can find clothes drying racks that will fold flat when not in use, so if you wash your clothes in the evening you can dry them during the night and then fold them in the morning and store the rack away. They aren't very expensive either, maybe $10-$15

I hang all my clothes, even in college... We had our beds bunked so I just hung them from hangers off the top rail and around my bed... I had a small oscillating clip on fan that helped speed it along... I also had a fold up wooden clothes rack.. They make nice stainless one's now... These things fold away and don't take up much room.... Just hope you get a roommate that doesn't mind...

Buy one of those folding wooden laundry racks. They fold up small to slip in a corner or under a bed - but can hold a lot of clothes for drying. You can get them at hardware and discount stores.

get a drying rack that will collapse and store easily, such as the ones shown in the link below
