So if you had say 100 PC's to inventory, and the memory type and speed is one part of the record I would need a software that will pull memory information from the system and may supply me with a result like :
This is PC2100 DDR2 mem , (okkkk I'll pay for it if it's not free) lol

I agree with Jyuu- go with CPU-Z, since it's a downloadable program you can burn to CD and use on any Windows-based PC.

The online memory analyzer at crucial.com is cool, but requires that the PC in question have a functioning Internet connection- that isn't always the case in inventory situations.

You could go to http://www.crucial.com and put in the manufacturer and model of the computers. It will tell you what it is. If you want software, get Dr. Hardware:
