To me a goal is something you set for yourself, to work toward, to achieve. A dream is just that. For example, a dream of mine is winning the lottery and never having to work again, but its not necessarily something that I can work toward to achieve.

Not very much. You can be awake and live either a goal or a dream. It would be difficult to say you can be sleeping and live a goal or a dream, it could seem phillosophical (sp?). If I don't agree with another persons lifestyle, or choices, I might think they live in a dream world, except we all do, we all have different dreams, and we take it for granted at a certain point. My dream is unique to me yours to you. I assume certain standards, you've gone to public school and have become educated, and you probably believe in Democracy, and freedom of choices, freedom in general, most of us seem to do so as well, this however is only one viewpoint on a planet of very many. Your own vision is more important to you than you think, plant the seed, it will grow. Make those standards as high as you can imagine, and then go make it happen, whatever you want it to be.

I would say a goal is a more defined version of a dream -- a dream with specific plans put in motion to accomplish that dream.

I think goals are part of a dream. You must set goals in order to fulfill a dream.

This question is so easy.
A goal is what scoring in soccer or hockey is called.
A dream is what happens when people sleep and "see" an illusion.
Why would anyone confuse these two?

A dream has everything perfect, and the way to achieve seems effortless, while a goal is focused on the accomplishing part, and that you take steps to reach it.

A dream is something you don't plan, it's simply a distant hope. A goal is something you realistically plan for and move toward.
