They say that it isn't a local police problem and that it is the Federal governments job so they won't lift a finger,

The local police force's job is to protect the locals from crime, not keep an eye on you to see if you are committing one, or will do so. After all, would you like to see an America, where one every few weeks, you get your home search just to make sure you aren't a criminal??
A person, whether illegal or not, working at a construction site, doesn't suggest they are a part of our crime problems that are caused by illegals.
meanwhile, while they were patting each other on the back for catching the notorious illegal that was working hard like anyone else, how many people where getting shot, or shooting up, or robbing a convenience store?
How many local areas have laws about illegals in Florida, are they acting within their jurisdiction? If not, that sets a very dangerous precedent, that will likely spill over into other areas of American life.

Its unconstitutional, that's why. Look, regardless of how the immigraation reform comes out, the police can, and should, be enforcing the law--but not by breaking it themselves in the process.
Here's my questions--and the kind of questions a federal court would ask:
1) does law enforcement have specific information (probable cause) in a given instance?
2) you said everyone--does that include people who don't appear to be Hispanic?
3) how is "loitering" defined (that's NOT a nitpicking question--if you look at history, you'll learn that some pretty wierd definitions have been used by those targeting a particular group tey don't like).
The point: I'm NOT suggesting that law enforce ment "shouldn't" arrest someone here illegaly (though personally I think our tax money is better spent elsewhere). But the police should follow the law. Otherwise, what's the difference?--you just have a law-breaking cop chasing a law-breaking illegal immigrant.

Sounds good. While the Sheriff's dept is hunting illegals, that gives the criminals a chance to do what they want. I think something like, it's not the Sheriff's dept job to do that. Hmm, that could be it. Everyone has an idea but most people lack the courage to try to do anything about it. It's easier to cry and complain than actually do something.

Sounds like you're not being completely truthful. If you run from the police, you don't get charged with trespassing, you get charged with evading arrest.
That's why I don't entirely believe what you say.

Q: "Why does every police force in the country not do this?"
A: "Its cheap and easy." No, it's expensive and there isn't enough manpower. But I too have noticed the crackdowns lately, it's been going on more frequently here in CA too.
