We're behaving very poorly with a government, that I know.

I think that, probably, more should be left to the states, and much less to the feds. The federal government is really stepping on all of our toes right now--and I don't see it getting better any time soon.

I also think that the police and courts are going way too far--overcrowded prisons because people who don't even belong in them are there. Many might need some mental health care, rehabilitation centers, etc.--and they don't get that help in prison. Rather than building more prisons per se, they should build facilities for the people who do need help--of course with much security.

No, if all government suddenly crumbled tomorrow:
1. There would be a few weeks of pillaging and looting
2. People would form groups and gangs
3. areas would be claimed
4. Rules would be established
5. Governments would be formed

We cant escape our need for order/security. Even if this government fails, people will form another. (although it would be neat to stick some children in a room somewhere and see if they form a society, but thats another topic)

I think Thomas Hobbes figured this one out long ago. The war of all against all, with lives that are mean, nasty, brutish and short.
