haha, wait is that a serious question?

Let's see if I can answer it, starting with the last one and working my way up to the beginning. Here goes nothing:

1. Saudi Arabia is NOT a democracy. It's a Kingdom (a Monarchy, to be exact) https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/print/sa.html

2. What has the taliban done to other nations? Geesh! How about terrorism, fundementalism that's ruined the lives of their people, etc etc....

3 and 4: See this link, it will give you the information you're looking for: https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/print/af.html

Osama is most likely in Pakistan. Pakistan is an 'ally' in the war on terror, and has nukes. You do the math.

The 9/11 hijackers were also from the UAE, Lebanon, and Egypt. But, they were organized by Al Qaeda, which, at the time, was opperating in Afghanistan, under the protection of the Taliban.

The Taliban were the unrecognized government of Afghanistan. Taliban means 'student' and the Taliban were religious fanatics who styled themselves 'students of Islam.' They assumed power after a long, bloody civil war following the withdraw of Russian forces from that country.

We're in Iraq and Afganistan because of all the Radicals that live there. Theyre killing everyone because they are so wrapped up in their Muslim religion. Osama wasn't the main reason we went there in the 1st place. Now..tho..were staying there because if we leave...more and more terrorist attacks are going to occur in the us. And! Were all going to die if Hilary Clinton becomes president.. #1...she wants to withdraw all the soldiers in Iraq and Afganistan..which will lead to massive terrorist attacks...#2 The Muslim religion does not agree what so ever that women can do anything! They are for child bearing and cooking. They dont even work! What do you think is going to happen when the country that the radicals over there hate the most has a women president!! Were gonna die!! AHHHHHHHH!

But mainly...thats the reason were over there. Dont vote hilary.

:]

First of all, we are still at war over there. I’m surprised you haven’t heard of it. It’s been in a few papers.

The Taliban was the Islamic faction that assumed control of Afghanistan in the midst of the Civil War following the defeat of the Soviet Union. The group was founded by Osama bin Laden and Pakistan and was intended as a unifying force in the country.
While they did manage to restore order in the capital and most of the southern region, they never had full control of the country. Bin Laden, who has long been estranged from his family, was exiled from Saudi Arabia and lived for some time in Sudan under the protection of several warlords. The government of Sudan, not wanting him in their country, offered to hand him over to the US but the President (Clinton) refused the offer under advice from his Attorney General that the US had no legal means of holding and prosecuting him. Bin Laden had been implicated in various terrorist attacks against the US but the evidence was not yet clearly established. He was subsequently invited to leave Sudan at which time he sought protection from his long-time friends, the Taliban of Afghanistan. When the US belatedly established a case against bin Laden they conducted a series of covert operations in conjunction with the Northern Alliance with the goal of capturing or killing bin Laden. They failed. Bin Laden and/or his underlings orchestrated the attacks on 9/11 (his most successful campaign to date), and the US demanded that the Taliban turn him over to the US for prosecution. The Taliban not only refused the demand, they swore to protect him. Since the actions of bin Laden and his group could not be deemed independent of the policies of the Taliban, the Taliban became as much a target for US retaliation as al Queda.

As for the ludicrous argument that “all 9/11 came from Saudi” you might want to remember that country of origin has nothing to do with complicity. Zacarias Moussaoui is French and Richard Reid is British. By your warped sense of logic, the US should also be at war with France and the UK.

I am curious as to how you can be so certain that bin Laden is not in Afghanistan. If you base it on the fact that we have yet to locate him I can only bring your attention to the fact that the US and UK each have scores of fugitives from justice within their own jurisdictions. Is it all that unreasonable to believe that he may be in the country and still be able to evade authorities?

Well, he was there originally, and once we go somewhere we seem to get stuck there. We couldn't go after Saudi anymore than I can go after MY landlord -- isn't allowed. And besides, Saddam REALLY didn't like GW's dad, and we can't have that either. What's a few thousand lives and $1.2 Trillion (current estimate vs. the $50 Billion GW originally promised -- hey, most of us have problems with really big numbers), when compared to somebody dissin' your old man, especially when his money has bought your way out of a lifetime of personal screw-ups and business failures (most of those bailouts were funded by Saudis and Bahrainis, too).

The Taliban are very strict in their religious beliefs and don't have any tolerance for mind bending drugs.

Afghanistan is the worlds largest producer of opium poppy's. The U. S. is there to monitor poppy production & opium distribution,,,,there's BIG money involved.

Your Taxpayer dollars at work!

We took over Afghanistan and Iraq so that we could infiltrate Iran which is our real target. Its a big conspiracy and Bush doesn't even realize it. He is the pawn in the game of more powerful men that want to seize oil profits for themselves.
