The question is, whats a unique name for a grown man. A new born is only a baby for a few years, but he'll be a man all his life.
Joshua is a wonderful name.

All of the above just seem to "go" with the last name Rodriguez

I absolutely agree with amosunknown - you really are looking for a name for a grown man.
Joshua is a great name. I really like it. Always have.
As far as UNIQUE goes though, Joshua is not particularly unique. I know several of them - in every generation. There are several my age, a handful of them in their teens and also several that are young children.
This does not mean that it is not a wonderful name though. It just isn't really unique.
I really actually like more "normal" names. I don't like it so much when you get into all these names spelled funny and all that. Especially the ones that don't look anything like how they are pronounced. I think that it will just give the kid a TON of problems in their later life. Yes, they are cute and interesting, but I prefer to think of the child and how they are going to have to deal with that their whole life.
Give them a commonly spelled name.
Just my opinion. No offense to anyone!

Don't think of a good name for a newborn; think of a good name for a MAN. That's what he'll really need.
I do like the name Joshua Rodriguez.

A name is very important for a child.
my suggestion is to make a list of all the names that you like and try to make fun of them any way you can.(Jackie the jack-0-lantern)
The ones with the least ways or no ways to make fun of ,are the ones you should keep in mind.Children can be mean while they are young about names, they become more accepting as they get older but while children are young they won't understand why kids are making fun of their name and may become very upset about it.
I also suggest names that can have an obvious nickname a child could use if they are uncomfortable with their full name
(my full name is Stephanie, most will call me Stephie at my preference)
try to make sure that the name is unique enough that too many kids wont have it(your child should be individual) but "normal" enough that it wont be mispronounced or thought as odd or weird.

Unique names are fine, but if they sound too made-up or pretentious, he's going to have one hard life.
My boyfriend's brother and sister-in-law recently had a boy and named him Dominic. HIs last name is Ortiz, and I think Dominic goes well with Hispanic last names like Rodriguez.
Here are some more thoughts:
Joshua Joseph, then call him JJ
Darius
Tate
Donovan
Clayton
Jackson
Brody

Unique names:
Uldson or Udson, Yuri, Rui, Jacinto, Marco, Rio (river in Portuguese), Giovanni,
Joshua is a gr8 name but is not unique though. I think unique is not always pretty.
I hope it helps!
