I don't know who Sean Marion is? There is an All-star player in Phx by the name of Shawn Marion from UNLV. Did you spell his name wrong to prove that u think he is under-rated? He gets up and down the court very well but alot of his points are a product of the system too and their ability to get out on the fast break. How many teams run as much as the Suns?

As a scorer no, but as a defender and rebounder yes. Sean Marion is a highly underrated defender, he does everything , gets steals, rebounds, blocks a some shots, but his scoring really benifts from the suns uptempo style of play.

The Matrix (Shawn Marion) is a decent player that will get you consistent numbers every game when you get him open looks. In my opinion, Stevie Nash makes him look a lot better than he is (knocking down wide-open treys or getting a dish down low for a easy jam, or running down court for an easy two). The Matrix doesn't create his own shots, and come somewhat be a liability when he doesn't have good looks at the basket. He's one of better role players in this league. On any other team, he couldn't possibly perform at the same level.

Not defensively because I believe everyone knows how good he is on that end of the floor and gives him credit for it. I think the national media sometimes forgets to mention how good he is offensively sometimes, though. Nash makes him better and it's always good to have Amare in the middle, but Marion is a very good player.
To sum it up:
Defensively- no
Offensively- yes

shawn marion is underrated. He brings it every night he scores, rebounds & defends the teams best player. He is the only player on that Phoenix team that has been consistent every year. He did his thing when Stoudamire was out most of the 2005-06 season.

I think he is underrated defensively. However, if he ends up being traded out of Phoenix than we will know for sure- because there is a perception that his numbers are inflated because of the system that the Suns run and outside of a run and gun system he might not do so well. i think in a more half-court set he struggles a bit- like against the Lakers when they slowed it down.

Yes he is a all star but is over shadowed by Nash and Amare. There has been rumors of him getting traded. I think its dumb to get rid of Marion because he is a very good player.
