I then assume you think the 3 Republicans who were visiting during the exact same time should also be charged with treason?

"It's interesting because three of our colleagues, who are all Republicans, were in Syria yesterday and I didn't hear the White House speaking out about that," Pelosi said, referring to the meeting that Representatives Frank Wolf, Joe Pitts, and Robert Aderholt had with Syrian President Bashar Assad in Damascus on Sunday.

I'm guessing nobody will respond. Kind of like when people posted question about BushCo funding the Sunni insurgents. The Reps/Cons had ZERO response, other then name calling.

EDIT - So now the Pelosi didn't have permission but the Reps did? I see. How come not one of you ever mention that when calling Pelosi a traitor when this story first came out? It is because you just say whatever you need to say to justify your hatred.

Republicans have to be the shadiest group of people in the country.

When it is Republican everyone thinks that is fine, but if is a Democrat visit those nations they should be shot for treason. You Republican tell me why are so hypocritical., I know you have a right because you know that your party is dead your Republican President George killled you party and nailed the
last nail in the coffin. When you no longer have a Republican Party where are you going, will you just stop voting just lead a normal life without all these Old Geysers in Washington. Don't come over to the Democratic Party we don't want you , just stick to your day dreams because you have a Republican attitude about what use to be but old use to be is got up and gone.

Take a look at those other 3, do you even know who they are... but everyone knows who Pelosi is. She is speaker of the house. You have to set a better example.
Plus those other 3 didnt try and speak for Israel and do the things she did.
Pelosi was out of line. Treason .. no probably not. But hopefully people vote her out next time.

The Republicans had Bush's approval to visit Syria. Pelosi did not. Whether Pelosi likes it or not, President Bush is still her boss. It's quite simple actually. Besides, pelosi visited Syria how long ago? We've moved on since then, you should try it also.

Gee I wonder where the hue and cry was when Gingrich or Hastert did the same sort of thing? They are up to their old hypocracy thing again.

Diplomacy isn't part of the job of the Senate, regardless of which party the Senator in question may be from.

Try reading the whole article, since you can't, I'll quote for you:

In Washington yesterday, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino stressed that the Bush administration objected to all visits to Syria.

"We ask that people not go on these trips," she said. "We discourage it. Full stop."

And I agree. Sorry but a congressman/woman is elected by a far smaller pool of the voting public. They should not be single handedly making foreign policy overtures to foreign nations who, by the way, support international terrorism and attempt to topple their neighbors through blackmail, murder, civil strife, terrorism, etc.
