Yes, Dell is a good brand. Just be sure to get a good warranty...they have always stuck behind their warrnaties and very quickly in my experience.

Yes, I have a Dell Inspiron 8200 Laptop purchased in Oct. of 2002. It survived a year in Iraq even with all the dust. I haven't had a single problem with it even though its been dropped a few times. A couple months ago the battery went bad, but I haven't bothered replacing it yet as I don't use it very often anymore but the expensive part is the battery replacement ($140). Other than that they're pretty decent machines.

Over the years, I've owned HP, Compaq and Sony.... after getting a DELL, I never went back to any other brand. I'm now on my third DELL and I feel they're the best PCs out there.

So yeah... DELL is a GOOD brand to say the least.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Dell is an awesome machine for the price. There are better machines out there like IBM. But IBM computers are much more pricey.

Talk to any repair technician and they will tell you that they work on HP, Compaq, and E-Machines all day long. Not a good sign!
