Ok, ignore Chica. She's obviously never played Guild Wars. There are no private servers. The other 2 answers are just gold seller bots.
She is correct though on 1 thing. You can download Guild Wars for free from the official site. The CDs that you buy in the stores are free, but you have to pay for an account. You can't play the game online without an account key code and those cost money.
And please don't post a follow up question: "Sum1 give me a free key code. plz plz plz plz plz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" It doesn't work and it's just a waste of time. If you want to play then pay for it like everyone else did.

You can't. You have to buy Guild Wars, but unlike other online games, you don't have to pay a monthly subscription fee so your only expense is the cost of the box.
You may be able to find a trial for Guild Wars - see here to find where to buy it. Depending on the cost, it might be more worth your time just to buy the regular retail box since the trial only gives you 10 hours or 14 days (whichever comes first) and then you have to buy the game anyway.

But if you're trying to look for absolutely free, try search google for "Guild Wars private servers" You cannot interact with anyone so it would feel like it's single player, but you don't have to pay a cent.
