Private industry (fed-ex, etc) took over the mail industry 40 years ago and the nation does not NEED a US Post office but, the US "does need" many other things like health care or a US television network to eliminate the need to take lobbyist money and fed the corruption for those running for office. Whatcha think?

No, then rates would go way up, who in the right mind would want the US postal to be sold. However health care and us television network yes. Lobbyist money should be illegal. ANYBODY should be able to run for President, through a process of local elections from city, up to state, then nation (the finals) should all have the same publicity. When it gets narrowed down, those candidates should have equal time on a US owned television network. This would help to end corruption, no longer the richest going for president and those paid off so when they get to it they don't give laws favorable to their money trees.

fed ex and ups won't mail letters for 42 cents. plus ups and fedex workers get paid way less that usps employees. The Usps in fact helps contribute to the federal economy instead of the greedy pockets of fedex and ups ceos,

No way! Then there would be no secure way to receive our mail! The Federal government has done a heck of a job making sure things get delivered with no tampering of it. So much so, that you don't even realize it!

I think this was tried in California.

I kind of like getting my mail and sending my mail and knowing it is regulated.

I could start a war on the junk mail, however.
