I'm a Duke fan for life, but I have to be honest. This past season, North Carolina had the better team.

Duke was too young. Our best player was Josh McRoberts and he played timid at times. Hopefully we can get some quality recruits this year (Since McRoberts left....we all know he should have stayed at Duke a couple at least 1 more year)so we can go deeper in the tourney when March comes around.

Okay here's my bias take on the UNC vs Duke basketball program. I'll be honest right off the bat, my heart lies in Durham, but I can be honest over the course of time with the like of Michael Jordan, James Worthy, Sam Perkins, Vince Carter, Rasheed Wallace, Jerry Stackhouse, and a number of others (shoutout to Antawn Jamison) UNC has the pedigree for an historic program. But in all realness, the Great UNC was authored by Dean Smith, one the greatest college basketball coaches of all time. Now let's fast forward during Coach K's career. Under Coach K, Duke has been the most productive college basketball team in the last tens years. Since Dean Smith, UNC has one title, Roy Williams with Mike Daugherty's players, kinda iffy, and two under the great Dean Smith. Now, Coach K in a shorter time has back-to-back plus one and several Final Fours with argubly lesser talented players. So seriously, who do we think is better .... at what? Let's go through it (and Keep Score):

NBA Great Players:
UNC - Michael Jordan, James Worthy, Sam Perkins, Brad Daugherty, Rasheed Wallace, Jerry Stackhouse, Vince Carter, etc.

NCAA Titles (Last 15 years):
UNC has 1 and Duke has 3

NCAA Final Fours (Last 15 years):
Duke has more than UNC, I told you I was bias

Which coach would you rather have, Coach K or Roy Williams? Let me interject, obviously I'm gonna say Coach K so myself and Dukies around the globe will not choose and to the Tarheel lovers, you don't get to pick either. So let's the USA Basketball Team choose. This just in Coach K will coach the USA Men's basketball team.

Okay, this is the last question and it's worth two points? Who has the greatest college basketball fans and are known for being the class of college basketball. The Cameron Crazies.

So except for building the foundation and producing some the NBA's best, Dean Smith and his accomplishments can compare to Duke. But recently, Duke is not only the class of the ACC, but also one of the best in the NCAA over the last 15 years. I'm not saying I'm right, but that's just what I feel in my heart, I'm out.

i think it switches from year-to-year. Overall i think Duke might has better recruiting because you know coach K will be there- and Carolina before Williams kind of shuffled coaches a bit and you never know how much longer Williams will coach. But obviously in recent years NC has had better recruiting classes. Duke has a pretty monster class coming in this year though.

i'll always be a tar heel fan. i don't care how many ncaa titles coach k wins, produce some all star professional players.. they have some major catching up to do to unc for that.
