It is all about him! People talk about him constantly so obviously he does matter. I will celebrate!
GO BARRY!
And piano boy it's not steroids, it's HGH.
Next question!
Erich S that was dynamite, I will have to star the question just because of your answer. "You're the punk, if he was a yankee you know your panties would drip when he stepped in the box."

Why bother responding to a loser? Cause it's fun, and I like to rub it in to the people who hate it that Bonds within a few short weeks will be the ALL-TIME, HOME RUN KING. He'll have the single-season and lifetime records, something no one will be able to take away from him, until he's passed by A-Rod or Pujols or someone who hasn't played yet. 73 isn't going anywhere though.
Speaking of A-Rod, he is closer to the description you wrote there. You obviously have never seen Barry Bonds play or even interviewed. This is one of the biggest igno-rant's I've seen here.
You're the punk, if he was a yankee you know your panties would drip when he stepped in the box.

One other thing that needs to be considered outside of his "HGH" (wink, wink) use is the fact that he plays in a ballpark that was CUSTOM BUILT for him. I'm out of shape and have never used steriods, and even I can hit a ball 315 feet to my power alley. Call AT&T Park "The house that Barry built" because had he not been with the Giants, there is no way the right field fence would be that close. Aaron would have probably had a few 50 home run seasons and been closer to 850-900 career hrs if the Braves had built a park for him.

Don't worry about a thing. The guy is guilty in the court of public opinion and when he does break the record, no one will care outside of SF. That is enough for me. As long as the public doesn't recognize it, Bonds' record will mean absolutely nothing. Until someone legit breaks it. Go A-Rod!
And his "achievement" is tainted. How is it worth celebrating?
If a kid scored perfect on there S.A.T.'s but cheated, would you still be impressed?

You shouldn't celebrate because he is a liar and a cheater! He took steriods and everyone knows it so he should just admit it! I don't think he will get into the hall of fame! He's an idiot and will never get the respect that he would have gotten if he would have broken the record without using steriods. I DEFINATELY WON'T CELEBRATE!

Why bother? Some people are enjoying the chase, appreciate the brilliant career he's performed for our entertainment, and even in these dark times that whole "freedom of expression" thing is still in effect.
So, some will celebrate. So what? You can, as your freedom enables, go pout or sulk or go postal (cancel your stamp first, please) as you like. Ain't it grand?

I agree... Bonds is a punk. Hes a ***** to fans, the media, his teammates, and the game. I hope when he's at like 754, someone beans that fool in the neck or earhole and knocks him out for the rest of the season... or maybe even his steriod strengthened knee... that would be fantastic... Bonds disgusts me, always has, always will.....

You Guys are buying into the sports media hype.
Bonds hates the media, so they paint him as an ungrateful figure who doesn't really care about baseball.
In reality he is a shy guy who knows what it is like to get attacked constantly by overweight writers who couldn't hit a ball if their lives depended on it. Just because a player doesn't like the press, doesn't make him a villain, but the media will try their best to present him that way.
His accomplishments are great no matter how he reacts to reporters, or what they say about him, and I will be celebrating, his achievement, not his demeanor.
