Why do humans need answers?????????

I would imagine that it's because we're the only known species intelligent enough to question our circumstances and how we came to be on the planet.

Awesome. You've provoked philosophy from biologists. Always a humorous endeavor! Wants, needs, desires set aside I suspect that humans are curious because this attitude fosters the maintainence of technological breakthroughs that support the species. Fire, tools, weapons, iPODs. They all began with an observation and a question.

Rather than being born with mostly hard wired instincts like most other animals, we have only a few of these (nursing, psychologically, attaching to mother, etc); our 'strategy' is to have a tremendous ability to learn. Some of the ways that we are set up to learn really well is to 1) be really curious 2) to want 'cognitive closure' (which really means that we like to have answers to things, we don't tend to like open questions). Twinkle, twinkle _______ star. Most humans from our culture can't read this without their mind filling in the blank. Wanting answers comes down to just one of the things that makes us human.

because we feel the need to be wanted, needed, and always seek for advise. we constantly find the urge to grow, and learn, the need to always have some sort of belonging, this is why we as a species seek answers.
