I am half way through my 28th week and the past week I have been feeling soreness and some pressure on my vagina. Sometimes when I push to go to the bathroom it ffels like a lot of pressure too. I told my doc. last week and she said it's normal becuase all of your muscles (including the ones in your vagina) are streching and supporting more pressure. I am paranoid it could mean I am loosing the baby.....(I've read about incomplete cervix and other things it could be) Can someone help ease my mind?

Your doctor can tell by ultrasound, and physical exam the state of your cervix, and whether or not its incomplete. You would not be 28 weeks pregnant and certainly not without complication were you suffering from an incomplete cervix.

You will have sharp pains, dull aches, pressure and soreness in your cervical and vaginal area. Especially when you strain for a bowl movement. You will also have a very large increase in vaginal discharge, as the hormone changes stimulate more production, and a different more watery, or more snotty consistancy.

Not only because of stretching muscles, but also due to the weight of the baby on the pelvic floor, and varicose veins in the vagina and birth canal.

This feeling of pressure is more intense the more children you have, most women by their third pregnancy are convinced that the baby will "fall" right out of them because of all the pressure. This is not the case.

You're fine :)

well even if you were to go into labor now the baby should be ok. 28 weeks the survival rate is 90% although the hospital stay could be weeks or even months for the baby. ive been feeling some pressure as well but its all part of the pregnancy. good luck

At your doctor's appointment you can ask him or her to check your cervix. This sounds totally normal since I have been having this problem too and I am only a little further along than you. My doctor told me not to worry unless I feel menstrual cramps or see blood.

I carried my babies low and towards the end it seemed like they were going to fall out!

In addition to muscles relaxing, your joints loosen up (especially your pelvis). I had pain right in the front of my pubic bone. Your body is loosening up so that it can open wide enough to get the baby out.

No, you are not losing the baby. I had a lot of pressure like that towards the middle and end of my pregnancy. Relax and enjoy your pregnancy.

it's normal---unless you're having bloody show or bleeding or rectal pressure (feeling like you have to have a bowel movement with an overwhelming urge to push) you're fine

i felt like i had a bowling ball in my crotch for the last 4-5 months of my pregnancy with my daughter

congrats and good luck!!
