Lately I have been experiencing rather strange breast/chest pain..sometimes there is a weird poking feeling in one of my breasts..and sometimes it gets gradually worse and it bothers me. At one time I experienced such horrid pain that i was not able to get up. At this time the pain was closer to my heart somewhere(I'm not sure of the exact position) but it really gave me a scare because the more I moved, the more it seemed to get worse. It felt like a muscle or something was just getting tighter and tighter, but it hurt. I'm not really sure what to do. During my period, I experience soreness like I have been for many years, but the other problems are starting to worry me. Do you know what it could be? Please help.and thanks for your kindness.

Never trust a medical opinion obtained online. You cannot verify anybody's credentials. That said....

The source could be a multitude of things. I suspect you may have a low grade infection, given the variable degrees of pain and location. A simple lab test will confirm it.

It doesn't sound cardiac related. I'm sure you're also thinking cancer. Relax, it is rare for a breast tumor to be painful and when it is, it's a consistent pain in the same spot.

But do see your doctor. Pain is your body's way of talking to you on an urgent basis! Don't ignore it.

Sometimes I experience weird breast pain too. It usually goes away though. It sounds like a muscle, but you really should go to the doctor to be sure. Best of luck to you.

I had the same discomfort. I went to the doctor and I had a cyst in my breast. They said it would either clear up on its own or they would have to drain it if the pain continued. Mine cleared up, but i've had friends who have had to get them drained. It's not that bad, and it gets rid of the pain! It's really common in 12-30 year old women. I'd go to see a doctor soon. That kind of pain is really scary! If you're on birth control pills, they can exacerbate the situation.

Good luck.

I had that, too, and thought I was having a heart attack. I had an EKG which was normal. My doctor diagnosed it as a back spasm and prescribed a muscle relaxer.
Get checked.
