About a year ago, I experimented with phytoestrogens to enlarge my breasts. I used an herbal supplement containing dong quai, saw palmetto, blessed thistle, fenugreek, and fennel for about a month before chickening out. I have been trying to burn off the products by means of starvation, and I don't think I've had much luck. So, I am lead to wonder: After that much use, would they have had a lasting effect upon my hormone balance?

What symptoms are you experiencing? I don't think any of those herbs would stay in your body for more than a week or so. Starvation is not a good option! Eating too little will mess up your hormone levels very seriously. If you think you have an eating disorder, see a doctor ASAP. Whatever your problem is, the herbs have nothing to do with it, but lack of an adequate amount of food probably does.

Please check with your doctor. It appears that you are dealing with some serious body-image issues. There is no harm in getting help when you need it -- pride can be deadly!
