Sweety, I cannot tell you how much trouble I've had with things like that. After a while I have figured out some tricks to keep my mind focused and to be able to get the work done.
First of all, find yourself a quiet spot where you can work. No TV, no music, no loud friends or family members running circles around you on their own business. If you have noise around you you are more bound to go check out what else is going on instead of focusing on your work. I often times like to go outside (If it isn't too cold of course) and sit under a tree somewhere while I work. The fresh air helps you concentrate as well and helps your brain to function better. Plus it is always nice not to be sitting at a desk. Sitting around outside will feel more relaxing to you and you won't feel as weighed down about work. The spot that you choose, too, should be used as the spot to do homework all of the or most of the time. It's a purely mental thing. After a while of doing homework in one place your brain will automatically go into work mode when you enter that area, making it easier for you to concentrate.
Secondly, the hardest part of doing any work is starting it. This is true for homework, cleaning, running errand, ect. You mind wants to go watch TV but you know you have work to do. So just sit down and do it. Don't spend a half hour looking over the worksheet and cursing your teacher for giving you the assignment. Just place it in front of you and start writing and solving problems! Once you get started it will be so much easier to continue. And take it one problem at a time. Don't even think about how much more you have to do. Focus on the problem that you are doing. When you're done, move on to the next one. You will be surprised how fast the work will get done this way. And because you didn't spend all of that time in the beginning wishing for the homework to do itself, you will have more time to hang out and have fun afterwards. You will also feel good about yourself once you finish the assignment.
Also, a lot of people say to look into the future of who you want to be and use that as motivation for what you are doing. I would have to disagree. I say this because the job that you are looking forward to in the future seems fabulous and something that you really want. The assignment in front of you will feel like janitor work in comparison, making you dread it even more. Just focus on the task at hand and don't let yourself start thinking about going out with friends or listening to music or going on the computer until the task is finished. Otherwise your mind will start wandering and you'll find it hard to concentrate. Best of luck

I have the same problem! Like now, when I should be working on a school project but am answering this instead! It's hard to stop it as threats or treats don't really work, but I find it helps to have a place where I do only homework and there are no distractions. If there are, remove them. Keep things you need nearby so you don't have the excuse to go looking for them. Just go there and once you start there will be less of an urge to go do something else. It also works if you pick a time where you find you can focus easier. So if you get yourself there, and at the time you can focus, you should get something done! It's not foolproof, but it's better than nothing!

Turn off all distractions around you and take your time to work on it. Know that if it's not done you'll fail and will most likely have to take it over again. Do the best you can and know that at least a C is passing. When you finish your homework, treat yourself to buying a new movie and a trip the ice cream shop, come home, kick back and relax with your ice cream and movie and know that your homework is done.
I do it all the time, I HATE math.

Set a goal for yourself such as... "As soon as I finish this homework I'm sooooo watching an hour of TV." It always works for me to set a goal for myself when I get done. I hope this is enough motivation for you!
