I was just using my jumpdrive an it says I must format it. When I click no it does not allow me into the drive. If I format the jumpdrive will i lose everyhting on the drive? If so is there anyway to remove the files off of it before I format it?

You could try to access it from another computer or a computer with a different OS - it is possible that the one you are using has a problem with the driver.

But if the file system on the drive is really corrupted, you will have to format it before using it and yes, you will loose all your files.

But after formatting it should be like new and you can restore the files from wherever you back them up - painful but it happens.

These devices are very convienent, but I would never trust them with important data that wasn't backed up somewhere else.

Good Luck
