Ok well I tried out for my school's Girls Sophomore basketball team last winter. I was a member of the Freshman team (everyone makes it) and I was known for my dedication, not my playing skills lol. So this year, about 60 girls tried out and only like 17 make it. I made it to where there were only 25 girls left, and did not make it. But the new coach liked my effort and let me become the team's manager. I would be required to come to every game at least an hour early, and I'd have to come in my school uniform, even on weekend and away games. That didn't bother me too much. But now, our team is in summer tournaments. For example, we're flying to California for a week long tournament, but they're still making me wear my uniform. Can they do that?

Yes, they can make you wear your uniform. As a team manager, you are a representative of both the school and the school's team. Be proud that the team has made it to tournaments and that you are there to provide valuable support for your team.

Well you are still considered a "team member". And to represent your team you must wear your uniform. I guess to be part of your team you gotta do what the coach tells you to do, and you must wear your uniform. They can force you to wear the uniform as long as your still part of the team.

If it's a school function, then the school can set the rules of appropriate dress because you are representing your school. In the NBA there is a dress code for players who attend team functions, but are not playing in a game. This is not something the school is doing just to be mean. You are representing your school at a school function. I, for one, don't think it is unreasonable that the school can set rules for appropriate dress, and require you to dress appropriately.
