Government is an excellent institution in its ideal form with objective of good governance in all aspects of modern living. All things comes under its control for planning, management, and development. If the institution is not managed by the principles for which it was founded. all would feel that less of government is better to manage and govern and so the saying goes as what you said!

Absolutely correct. The federal government has only a couple jobs: protect its citizens, build roads and uphold the constitution. The federal government should get out of nearly everything else like: education, health care, retirement programs, and on and on and on.

In a perfect world, absolutely.. unfortunately the world we live in is far from perfect and due to ignorance and inability of the masses what would be best is a moderate government.. one that doesn't allow the whimsical mood changes of the mob to destroy a nation while at the same time allowing freedom to mostly prevail.

It is pretty true, but some things need to be managed by a strong central government, such as military, intelligence, economy, etc....
This principle works because, no matter how dumb people are, they know how to take care of themselves without the government intervening.
