Isn't it about time she was made a saint?

Never.
a) She wasn't Catholic.
b) her lifestyle was as far from saintly. Yes, she did hug some children and AIDS patients if she knew she could get some good press for herself in the process, but everything else about her was the epitome of what the church opposes. She was an adulterer. She was vain.

In my opinion, if Diana stood for one thing it was bringing people together and breaking down all kinds of barriers, including those of Religions. So perhaps Sainthood in one religion may not be apropriate.
Personally I would suggest she is remembered as Princess Diana, or Diana, Queen of Hearts - we all know who it refers to and the very name Diana conjoures up a whole load of memories and stories about her.
She set a standard all of her own beyond culture and religion?
So does she really need a title like Saint to be as special as one?
If you believe in praying to spirit/saints on the other side of life then you should feel free to pray to her whether people call her a saint or not.

No, she was far from being a saint. I think she was a very troubled woman with little support in her role as princess. I felt sorry for her, but she didn't do good deeds out of the goodness of her heart by itself. She made sure the media was there at times to see her almsgivings when she wanted it.

Diana was a great woman, but she did not lead the life of a saint (at least by what the Catholic Church would consider).

Ha ha. Not really. What did she do that a million people haven't done? Ultimately, you'd be canonizing someone just for being pretty and famous. She did some nice things, but never did anything worthy of sainthood. Canonize her, and you'll have to canonize Bono or Brad Pitt. That is plain silly.

Well, she was an awesome princess and a great celebrity role model and contributor to charities, but I just don't think she's ready for sainthood. Like any other celebrity in the public eye, she had her immensely great qualities, like her big heart and her willingness to put herself in the spotlight to help out a good cause, but she was ultimately just a person, flawed and imperfect. If you're going to canonize anyone, my money is on Mother Teresa, who coincidentally died the same week as our princess.

I don't think so, because I don't believe that she performed miracles which are kind of "no nonsense" rule for the catholic church.
She certainly did a lot of charity work but 1. she wasn't the only one, 2. not catholic, 3. no miracle.
