Turtles can eat reptile pellets. You can find these in a pet store or the pet section of a supermarket.

OK well I only first want to say that TURTLES ARE NOT DOM. Everyone can have an opinion. Now that I have said that I can help you. It does depend on the species and for how much I need to know how big it is. Without that information I can't say too much. I'll try my best to help you. All turtles need a healthy and balanced diet. For fibers and proteins slugs, wax worms, meal worms,.... plainly worms that you can dig up would be fine. There are crickets too. It will eat almost any insect. It will also need fruits and veggies. Such as bannanas, pears, tomatoes, apple, watermelon, strawberries, blueberries, stuff like that. You could also feed them aquatic plants. Dandelions and many other plants that i dont know the name of off of my head. Ive heard they will eat carrots but my turtles totally ignored them. Make sure its chopeedd up and thawed. Frozen peas as a snack. Lettuce is low in protien and vietamins but good once in a while. If you can provide a balance diet you could buy turtle pellets from a pet store. Though you really should try to fit some of those things in there. Well hope this helps. Good luck. :) If this does not help try billsboxturtles.com. It's ok if it is not a box turtle.

I have 3 wonderful box turtles which live freely in by yard. They eat the usual worms and snails and bugs, but they also love tomatoes, baked potatoes(No salt ot butter ever!) They also LOVE fresh canned dog food, and will freely waltz up to my while I'm on the patio. I place a hunk of fresh dog food on a fork, and they eagerly pull it from the fork, then walk off back into the woods!

What kind of turtle? Wild or captive?
For example, pond turtles (Painted, Red-ear Slider etc.) eat insects, worms, small fish, crustaceans, etc. as young in the wild, then add more and more water plants as they get older.
In captivity, we would feed them a mix of good turtle pellets and live or frozen/thawed 'fish foods' like krill, shrimp, worms, etc.
Box turtles, snappers, soft shells, grassland tortoises, forest tortoises, and many other groups have their own wild and captive diets as well.
You can learn more about most of them at http://www.austinsturtlepage.com

Depends on the species.Wild or captive? They have specialized diets to ensure proper shell growth and general well being.DO NOT feed it dog or cat food. Most need a mixture of fresh vegetables and protein.Proper lighting is required for captive turtles as well.
