I can't wait for the release and the book, but I'm dreading the end of everything. In other words, mixed feelings.
How about with the OotP movie that's coming out in 13 days? Looking forward to it or dreading it? I think most people are looking forward to it...

I'm really looking forward to the last book and am currently re-reading the series to refresh my memory before it comes out. I admit that I'm a little nervous as to who Rowling is going to kill off this time. I didn't think it could get much worse than Dumbledore, but I must say, if any of the Weasleys die (especially Fred and George), I'm going to be heartbroken. I admit that I want to see Draco and Lucius Malfoy bite the dust. The two of them have had it coming for a while. The Dursleys are horrible Muggles and deserve some sort of punishment, but I wouldn't go so far as saying I want them to kick the bucket.

I would love to see Harry finally triumph over Voldemort, and while I can see why Rowling might kill Harry to prevent spinoffs by other authors, I hope she remains true to Harry and that he makes it out of his final confrontation with Voldemort victorious and alive. After all, if Harry lives, Rowling can write another series about one of the kids he and Ginny have together. ;)

And of course, if Rowling wants to bring Dumbledore back as a nice surprise, I'm sure I wouldn't mind at all.

In regards to the movie, after seeing the promotional poster, I must say that I am looking forward to it. I am so happy that the actors have stuck with the series. I love watching the first four movies and seeing how the actors are growing up in real life as their characters are growing in the books/movies. As they get older, the actors are gaining more experience and maturity, and this reflects in the final outcome of the movie. I just rewatched Prisoner of Azkaban last night and must say I was disappointed at how fast it moved compared to the book. I was also upset that Oliver Wood and the Quidditch Cup weren't included in the movie. It didn't escape me that Chris Columbus directed the first two movies, which, in my opinion, were more loyal to their books than the third, which was directed by Alfonso Cuarón. I think that Mike Newell did a pretty good job with the fourth, and I am anxiously waiting to see what kind of movie David Yates directs, as he is also directing the Half-Blood Prince.

That's my opinion! :)

It's taken Rowling this long to write the whole series, I can wait a few more weeks for the release. Maybe Harry will die and bring closure on his life and adventures, maybe he'll live and we'll be left wondering about future adventures. Doesn't matter, the book WILL bring closure to seven years of adventures, seven years of the threat of Voldemort. No matter what happens in the end, that will be good to see.

As for the movie, I'm much more dreading it's release after the last two. As far as I'm concerned, Cuaron butchered Prisoner of Azkaban, rushing through things, adding or changing things that weren't in the book (I don't recall any talking shruken heads in the book and students most certainly were allowed in the Three Broomsticks on the day Harry learned Sirius supposedly betrayed his parents), moving some things around (most noticeably Harry getting his firebolt at the very end of the movie), it just felt like he decided the book didn't matter all that much. Then he told convinced Newell to get rid of most of the subplots in Goblet of Fire (resulting, really, in most of the book) and do a single movie instead of two in order to get as much of the book adapted as possible. Order of the Phoenix is supposed to be shorter than the other two movies (OoP at 138 minutes, PoA 141 minutes, and GoF 157) and I'm just wondering how rushed it will be or how much will have been cut out.

I am incredibly excited for the release of Deathly Hallows; I always enjoy reading J.K. Rowling's latest work, as it is written wonderfully. However, I don't want the brilliant series to end. All of the characters we have grown to love and hate, the plots that have kept us glued to the pages, etc. are all ending, and it's a bit distressing. I am also dreading the possibility of what could happen...

My reactions to the previous Harry Potter films have not been good, so I am dreading seeing how Order of the Phoenix has been botched. Although, I must say, I do like bashing the films in protection of the novels and I do like movies.

I'm so excited for the book! My sister and I have actually made a tradition about the new books coming out... we only get one copy and we have to trade it off... it's a little frustrating, but that's ok. I'm sorta sad that the series will be over once I finish this book (I've grown up with them; I started reading them about 8 years ago when PoA was brand new).

Now for the movie. Well, I'm looking forward to seeing it, I guess, but it's nothing near how excited I am for the book. The last two movies have disappointed me greatly and I have no doubt that I will be disappointed with this one as well. The problems come from trying to cram 500+ pages into two hours. It just doesn't work and some of my favorite scenes will have to be left out (especially the scene where Fred and George tell Peeves to "give her [Umbridge] hell" since Peeves has never been introduced in the movies). But, I'm going to see it anyway =)

To the Deathly Hallows, I CAN'T WAIT!!! It's going to be awesome! Seriously, after the sixth part, I'm dying to know what will happen!

As for the Order of the Phoenix - meh...
The movies do NOT do the books justice. I mean seriously, those that are too lazy to read or just plain illiterate rely on those movies to learn about Harry Potter and come to the assumption that Harry Potter is nothing more than a children's fairy tale! And, we, the people who read the books, know just how far off they really are!

Anyhow, if anyone deserves this level of success, its J.K. Rowling. She had a pretty crappy life before Harry Potter and raised her kid practically on her own. Check this link out.

As for the book, I'm excited for it but at the same time i am dreading it. its just going to be hard for me to realize this is the last book and that after this there will be no more new adventures on Harry or even those midnight book parties that i always seem to enjoy. it just saddens me to see that this is the end of the series. And, like someone else already mentioned. im kinda nervous to see who will die and i scared to find which side is going to win. but as a fan of the books i of course would love to see how it ends. but i feel exactly how you do; mixed emotions.

the movie will be fun to see and im going to see it on opening night. the OOTP is one of my favorites in the series so i am very excited to see how it all comes out.

Well I don't know about OotP movie because I didn't see the 4th one. But I am most definitely looking forward to the last book.
but I am a little scared about what's going to happen because some people say harry's gonna die in the last book, so I don't know about that. personally I think they are just rumors and J.K. Rowling wouldn't go off and kill the main character, but that's just my opinion.

I agree, it's a jumble of mixed feelings, but i just CAN'T wait for the movie. i hope it turns out better than all the rest!
Although in the previews and advert clips, Umbridge isnt qutie as UGLY, and STUBBY and immensely annoying as the book explained her, they never really are. when i was reading the book, I was suffering from umbridgeitis already!
and i HOPE they show the part where Fred and George quit school!

I just re-read the book, but i think i'm gonna read it all over again...
i want all the images in my mind for when i watch it!

I am looking forward to both and I think Rawlings will come up with a new character and series that will be almost as good.
