as a "patriotic citizen" why would you want to stop them? Sorry to inform you, but Capitalism is the way of America . . . just because Walmart is big Business, and the Walton Family has succeed at it in a BIG way is not reason to punish them. The jobs that it creates, and the money that it saves us lower-middle class people is reason enough to invite them into your community! As a patriotic citizen, I support their efforts!

All you can do is petition your city council to try and prevent them from locating in your community. Some communities *have* successfully prevented Wal-Mart stores from setting in a particular location, but only in a minority of cases.
Most city councils cannot look past the projected sales tax revenues from Wal-Mart stores.

Many communities have gotten together and protested AND won! Call your representative, Senator, County Commissioner, Zoning board. Get a petition from the residents and other business owners. Together YOU CAN fight this demon!!!!!!
Good Luck!

I once worked for Wal-Mart. They pay and treat their employees as well as any other store. You are listening to the advertisements and talking heads paid for by labor unions. Labor unions want Wal-Mart to hire union workers and Wal-Mart refuses .So the unions attack Wal-mart. Unions encourage laziness in employees and their leaders are mafia. I would never want to stand against the unions. You don't do what they ask and you find yourself swimming with the fishes at the bottom of a lake.

Why stop them? They'll probably bring a lot of new jobs to the area. In the meantime, just keep supporting the competitors.

Invite Target to also move into the community. Target is a far better retailer and is far cleaner.

I hate walmart. This is why I hate walmart. They build their stores everywhere and compete with small stores. Eventually, the small stores go out of business because they can't compete with Walmart. The thing that makes me mad, is because you are forced to shop there because they put everyone else out of business.
The Walton's are filthy rich demons!!
