My light went off last week and I took it to a VW dealership. They said there was a loose spark plug wire and got that replaced. My car was shaking every minute on the way there. All was well for about five days. Then the problem came back. The car shakes consistently again whenever I'm braking long enough. When I accelerated twice to get on the freeway, the light went on and off. I'm just so frustrated how this runs my life. My car is a VW Jetta 2002. Can anyone help?

I'm thinking your rotors are warped. heres how to find out if its in the front or the back.

If you feel the vibration in the seat then its the back brake rotors.
If you feel the vibration in the steering wheel only then its the front rotors.

Take it to your mechanic and have him inspect the rotors. He will measure the runout and let you know if you need them replaced.

As for the light problem, take your car to autozone and have them scan it. It could be your gas cap. Make sure its on tight, or get it tested. Yes a gas cap can cause the check engine light to come on.

exchange the gasoline clear out first. Have a relied on inner maximum mechanic verify the gasoline stress interior the gasoline rail stress setting up beside the gasoline injector nozzles. make optimistic your crankshaft place sensor and camshaft place sensors are sparkling. in the event that they're grimy it's time to think of anout extra powerful motor oil. If the spark plugs and *ignition wires have not been replaced interior the previous 50,000 miles, you're previous due.

Take the car back and tell them that it is still doing the same thing as before.

You may want to go to a place like Autozone and let them run the codes for you. Then they should be able to tell you the problem and sell you the parts to repair it. good luck.

I think you need a new engine mount. They are not expensive but if you continue to drive it it can cause problems with the transmission, so take it in as soon as possible. And do not go to the dealers, go to a local garage, whole lot cheaper.
