YES...if we legalized pot and prostitution we would eliminate our national dept....oh the tax revenues.....but forced ideas of morality and backroom deals will keep that from happening

No. The potency of marijuana today is by far the strongest it has ever been and will only serve those who are careless and irresponsible.
What needs to be legal again is Industrialized hemp. The uses are too numerous to list. Want to save the forests? Then support the production of Agricultural hemp. Hemp grows a 100 times faster than any trees harvested for use.

absolutely! medically it can't be beat for nausea with chemo. Besides drinking is legal. If you are rich enough in Calif. you don't even have to be legal. Tax pot like cigarettes. Oh,wait. maybe someone wouldn't be making money if it was legal. You can't tell me the higher ups aren't getting a cut of what's coming in. Why else wouldn't they legalize it? Besides, anybody ever get pulled over for pot.Usually it's for the LEGAL alcohol.Besides you can get it almost anywhere anyway!

Feh. TV causes people to do crazy things, too. Sure, legalize it and tax the heck out of it. And I say this as someone who's never done drugs! Just keep the same kind of punishments in place that we have for people who misuse alcohol, sell it to minors, and so on. Doesn't seem so unreasonable. Why should I care if someone wants to smoke?

NO! The U.S. has a big problem with people using drugs as it is. Why should young children be exposed to the dangerous chemicals? It's bad enough have to be exposed to cigarette smoke which contains carbon dioxide. It's unhealthy. "Doing" drugs is dangerous and stupid. If you want to put that trash in your body, don't expose others to it.
If it has medical uses, it should be administered by licensed medical personnal only.

Should moonshine be legalized? No. Should Pot be legalized? No.
Both cause people to do crazy things. After someone gets addicted, it hurts them more than the other people they may hurt. It shouldn't be legalized. Think of all the people who could get hurt. PLUS, It stinks.

I think so. The Government would then control it. Tax the crap out of it and maybe put some of that money into things like the national debt and health care.

I miss the "old days" sometimes, but a nation of stoners? How would Burger King and McDonalds handle the onslaught of munchy seekers?

Absolutely. The War of Drugs has been a pathetic failure since it first began; no one learned the lessons of Prohibition, apparently.
Growers could become "farmers" and distributors could then establish themselves as "small businesses"; the tax revenue would help offset the income tax.
