I have an old Dell computer but my monitor is junk, so I want to get an inexpensive flat screen soon. Any recommendations for the monitor? Also, can I recycle this old monitor?

no it doesn't matter at all- just you pay more for a high brand name- like samsung is a number 1 monitor i also fount dell to be a strong running monitor

Nope. Monitors are standalone and do not need to match the computer at all.. however one thing dell does well is monitors. Get another Dell or a Viewsonic.

As long as the same plug on the video card.
You can recycle the old monitor as long it is functional.

I have a HP computer and use the speakers from my Compaq model.
