no it doesn't matter at all- just you pay more for a high brand name- like samsung is a number 1 monitor i also fount dell to be a strong running monitor

Nope. Monitors are standalone and do not need to match the computer at all.. however one thing dell does well is monitors. Get another Dell or a Viewsonic.
