The name Natalie means 'born on christmas day'. I have always loved this name and its even more special now that my due date is dec 26. There is a chance I could have her on christmas in which case the name applies but if she is born on any other day is it stupid to name her that? I know plenty of people name their children without even checking the meanings and if I like it thats all that matters...etc but personally would you do it?

Natalie is a great name. Just name her that no matter what day she is born. I have met plenty of Natalies and a don't think a single one of them was born on Christmas. And it isn't like most people know what Natalie means anyway.

I wouldn't worry if she isnt born exactly on christmas day. It's still a pretty name. The only way I would let a name definition effect my decision is if it was a negative meaning. I really like the name Mallory and then I looked up the meaning when I found out I was having a girl, and it means Bad Omen. Good luck to ya!!

If she's born on Christmas, then it's perfect.

And if she's not, it's all up to you. Some people place a high importance on the meaning of a name, some people pick names because they like the way it sounds, or some just pick names because it's a family name.

As long as you like it, and the meaning doesn't bother you, then I think it would be totally fine :)

I'd use it anyway. I'd only avoid using a name due to its meaning if it had a really negative or embarassing meaning, because even though it's not something that comes up often, usually there is a class project or summer camp activity where kids compare the meanings of their names. Kennedy, for example, is a variation on the spelling of Cinneidigh, an Irish/Gaelic name which literally means "ugly head" (ceann=head, eidigh=ugly). I couldn't give my kid a name that means "ugly head" no matter how ugly they were (j/k!), but I could give her a name that means "born on Christmas" even if she wasn't. Natalie is a beautiful name.

Honey, name your baby whatever you want. Thought would be awesome if she happened to be born on Christmas day and you name her that but either way it is a beautiful name and honestly not too many ppl will no or care what her name means. If you love Natalie name her that. Good Luck and Congratulations!

I like the name anyway, and I think meanings are very special. If that's what you want, then go for it. Even if she's not born on x-mas it will still be close and you can tell her that she was your christmas wish :)

Natalie is a very pretty name...I would name her that even if she isn't born on Christmas day. I didn't even know that is what the name meant.

I know lots of Natalies and not a one of them was born on Christmas Day.
If she is born then
Natalie Noelle would be pretty and both would honor her birthdate.
