I am a Red Sox fan, but I think that he has had a disappointing season! How many foul balls can he hit this year that are caught for an out!?

You're right. The question should have been should he play in the All Star game.

Erich, you're right too! I am not a Red Sox fan or a baseball fan. Thank you for reminding me. And as for me being a MORON. GO ____ yourself. You must be a Yankees fan.

Southfla, don't pay any attention to Erich S, that person comes on here and acts like they know something about the Red Sox.In the end, all your doing is making yourself look like a dumb ***.Now to your question, Yes I do think that Manny should be playing this year in the All Star Game. He's one incredible defensive player. No one can dispute that. His hitting well, not the best.He has a .295 average, with 11 HR's.His RBI'S 42.Not his best numbers, but he does deserve to be in that game.

You're not a Red Sox fan, cause if you were, this is tantamount to heresy.

What do you want from the guy? His foul balls to go into the stands every time? Him to not hit any foul balls at all? You're a moron, and obviously not a baseball fan. I hate the Red Sox, but Manny is been one of the three best players of the past 10 years.

EDIT: Nope, the Yankers suck too!

Yes he should be on the ballot every starter at his position is on the ballot. If people should vote for him is a different question. Hes not having a Manny year but still pretty good. Hes up above .300 for the season now. He still should get the start though if thats what you were really asking.

And PWN-whatever the rest is. Why does everyone say Manny has no defense. He is a good defender. He plays the wall better than anyone Ive seen. Hes gonna make his 1 or 2 goofy plays a year but he is really a solid outfielder.

Yes he should...he is the Red Sox everyday left fielder so yes...regardless of how bad he is he should be on the ballot. Should he be playing in the game? That can be debated but I would still say yes. As for the dude who said he has no defense...you should watch him sometime. He is actually becoming a much better fielder than he used to be...the past two years his defense has increased greatly...and try to turn a single to left into a double or score from second on a single to left....Manny has a cannon for an arm and will throw most runners out!

the AS Ballot is a popularity contest

manny is hitting .295 to date with 11 HR, 42 RBI, and 39 RS

those are average, but i think there are other guys who deserve an all-star start more than him. he could be a reserve this year

Of course he should be on the ballot, don't you mean should he be on the all-star team? His numbers 295-11-42 are good enough for consideration and he would be deserving if selected to be on the team.
