if its proven to be false then nothing happens

They will investigate the complaint. In some cases they might put you on "probation" and if no similar complaints are brought up, you will be fine. If something happens to substantiate the complaints then you will be in trouble and may have the kids taken away.

If someone did file a false complaint you should mention that it is false and why you think they brought it up. But many professions, such as teachers, are required to file a child abuse case if they see signs that are normally associated with child abuse.

Child Protective Services will be called and they are going to come out. The only thing you can do is be compliant and make sure that those allogations are false, prove it. Your should be clean and you should have food. They are going to talk to the children and if all goes well, then you have nothing to worry about, and the case will be closed. If they see where the children are being abused or neglected then they can and will probably take them out of the home or give warnings.

There needs to be more info. Was it a false report in that they were doing it to harm you - purposely giving a false report or was it that they were being a concerned citizen or a mandatory reporter and reported what they thought they saw?

If it is investigated and comes up false you would be fine. I used to work CPS and the names of those who were accused of child abuse and the claim was unfounded were not public information.

You would be found to be a fit parent and they would be discredited if they ever tried to make a claim again, hopefully. Be sure to be truthfully with the fact that this is a false report and I'm sure the investigator can relay this to the local authorities. You may even want to get information about a restraining order ( against the accuser) to prevent them from threatening you again.
