You would be better off just buying a tinted one if possible. I would be concerned that adding a stick on type tint may affect your vision.

Sure you can buy a extra visor if you want too. That's if they make one for the brand helmet you have. But a cheap way to do it is just using window tinting. I did this to a shield on my helmet I use for drag racing my snowmobile. I didn't want to spend the extra cash on a shield & at the time nobody had a tinted one in stock. So with a little scrap peice of window tinting that I got from a buddy I did my own sheild. Auto tint normally can be bought at any parts store and in the auto sections of Walmart, Kmart, etc. If you have any shops in your area that does window tinting I sure they would have a scrap peice laying around too. Give it a try. If it doesn't work out the stuff will peal off. My limo black shield has been tinted for 10 years now and still holding up great.

Just spray paint it the color you want.
I'm kidding. It's possible, but probably not recommended. I remember seeing a warning on a package of window tint film to not install it on lexan or plexiglas. Most manufacturers make tinted shields as well as clear ones. Check with the maker of your helmet.
