How do I connect a broadband wireless card to a desktop that doesn't have a PS card 2 slot? installation easy?

Hi. Usually they install in a PCI slot. Very easy. Just make sure you do not have a static charge on you by touching the metal case. One screw. Also there are USB based cards.
