pay for their own bats? Also, do you think that bats should be more standardized?

Apparently nobody knows for sure, the link that was provided still doesn't answer the question. The only thing I can figure is that they are responsible to pay when they come into the league, but it may be covered from sponsors or stated in the contract otherwise.

No, the team obtains the bats for their players and always has a dozen or so available at each game. Bats are standardized to the point that weight and length must fall within pre established standards. I hope the attached site will help.

they only pay for them if it is not specified in thier contract that they cannot pay for bats and if they are sponsored they get bats

no they dont. companies sponsor players in general and the team will get extra bats from the sponsors

yes they pay for there own bats and know i dont think they should be more standarized. every play is different.
