No. It is just a more dense filter that will filter out more particulate matter. When the engine wears down with high mileage more bits and pieces of the engine will start running through the system. ( Metal shaving, Carbon, etc.. )

You should be able to use regular oil, but on over 100,000 mile engines that formulated brand of oil is good for it, but not essential.

no but if your motor is very high millage it would not hurt to use it

no, you can use whatever oil you want.
