It depends on the reason for taking off....like for doctor visits for example whether for themselves, a spouse or children. I've got coworkers who have been taking a lot of time off or leaving early quite a bit for those reasons. One lady has a 1 year old son who has to go to physical therapy once or twice a month & one of the guys here has had his wife in & out of the hospital cause she's just been diagnosed with lung cancer. I envy people who take off just to get a little rest from work........I need that too!! I'm actually going to be doing that sometime soon cause I rarely take any vacation & am rarely sick so I'm pretty much at work every friggin day. UGH!!

Where I worked, A Vets office with minimum staff, it was a real hardship to the rest of us when someone called out. Hardship like I would have to either work a double shift or not have lunch etc. We had a good staff and whenever someone
called out I knes they were really sick. If I knew in advance I had to be off I would always make plans for it as did the others I worked with. I guess it depends on where you work.

I have never been one to just take off, just any old time. I realize that sometimes people have health issues, also some have family who need them at home. But the ones who just don't mind calling in sick, for no good reason simply amaze me. I know for a fact, that I would never have gotten away with doing that.

They annoy me. I don't mind once in a while but there is a guy here that does it all of the time. I cannot remember the last time he put in a full week.

They probably don't like their job so they want to escape it. Or if they have meetings that require them to leave often.
