That only works on TV.
Soak the old stain in Dawn dish soap and then wash with Tide (if you prefer) like normal.

tide to go sucks for stains..it helps prevent stains from setting
pick up a small box of BIZ and fill a bowl or bucket whatever with water and put a cup of biz in it and let the garment soak over night..the stain should come out

You can always try Oxy Powder, dilute a scoop in water and soak garment then launder.
